While some renewals are more surprising than others, FOX has officially granted a second season to Andy Samberg's Golden Globe-winning 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine,' along with thirds for Kevin Bacon serial killer drama 'The Following' and Mindy Kaling's critically-adored 'The Mindy Project,' and a fourth season for Zooey Deschanel's ever-quirky 'New Girl.'

What feels like just moments after Kim Kardashian split from Kris Humphries, Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard have followed suit with a separation of their own. Deschanel rep confirmed the decision to US Weekly, adding that it was “mutual and amicable” and that “there was no third party involved.”
