806 Health Tip: Breakfast Really Is An Important Meal
As you were growing up I know you have heard your mom tell you to eat breakfast. You can't leave for school without something in your stomach. You know to this day that she was right. Do you still find yourself skipping that most important meal though?
I feel a lot of us do. We just tend to run out of time in the morning. It's not always an intentional thing. I think our hearts are in the right place. Did you know that eating a proper breakfast is one of the most positive things you can do if you are trying to lose weight?
If you skip that all important meal you are more likely to actually gain the weight. You think I will just eat at the next meal. Once that lunchtime gets here you are pretty much starving and you don't necessarily make the healthiest decisions. You go for that fast food meal because, well, it's fast.
You know you are already going to make a bad decision by the time you are in that 10 am meeting and you can hear your stomach growling. You know what I am talking about. Maybe you are thinking you will grab a donut and a cup of coffee. Don't do that. That may be even a bigger mistake.
So what can you do to help you on your weight loss goals? Listen to mom. Eat a breakfast. Even if you don't have time there are some quick but healthy choices. You can grab some fresh fruit or fruit juice. A high fiber cereal with low fat milk will take you no time to throw together. How about a piece of whole wheat toast to calm that stomach? Even a hard boiled egg can start you off in the right direction.
Take those few minutes in the morning to grab something from your kitchen. If all else fails grab a protein bar, but check the amount of sugar in it. If you start the day off right your waistline will thank you.
