Amarillo Buc-ee’s Update – Could They Open Earlier Than Expected?

When was the last time you drove near Airport Boulevard in Amarillo? Of course, that is the location of the new Buc-ee's. We are so patiently waiting for the opening date of February 2025. That is what we were told.

Could Buc-ee's Be Opening Up Sooner?

I mean that February 2025 date is what we were given as the opening date back at the Groundbreaking Ceremony last year. Those dates, we know, end up being different. In Amarillo, we have learned to expect the opening date to be much later.

We have seen that time and time again. How long did it take Roll Em Up Taquitos to open? That was not the only one that has been pushed back many times. It was just the first one to come to mind.

Back to my original question, when was the last time you drove by Amarillo's Buc-ee's location? I have been by a few times recently on my way to and from Dallas. It is really coming along. I am not the only one who has noticed.

I am a part of Amarillo's Getting a Buc-ee's Store Facebook and I saw a member post a photo of the progress and he mentioned that it could open earlier. I reached out to him.

I haven't heard back about how official this is. I also have reached out to the folks at Buc-ee's to see if things are looking good for an earlier opening date. I have not heard back from them yet.

I know that even when I hear back any date given can change due to weather. We know how unpredictable the Texas Panhandle weather can be. So we will keep an eye on this.

I am just thrilled to see that I am not the only one who has noticed how fast that construction is coming along. I will be thrilled if we do get an early Christmas present with the store opening up sooner than expected. I don't think anyone would be too upset by that.
