With reports being put out all day of a potential 5 inches of snow being dropped on the area, it's important to keep some things in your car in case you get stranded.

Spare Battery/Charger

There's nothing worse than your phone going dead right before you need it. Keep an extra charger or battery pack in the car so you can charge your phone if you need to.

Blankets/Jackets

I personally keep a sleeping bag in my car. If I get stranded for any reason during a winter storm, or after a winter storm, I have it there to help keep me warm. Keep extra jackets, blankets, or even a sleeping bag in your car.

Water/Snacks

Water is great to have. There are a lot of reasons you might need some water if you get stranded. I keep a gallon jug in my car at all times. Sometimes, you just get thirsty.

Snacks will also help you calm down a bit while you wait for help. Stress-eating is real, and if you keep some snacks on hand, they'll help you wait for help to arrive.

Flashlight

Keep one in the glove box. It's hard to get a good look at tires, in the trunk, or under the hood at night without one. Plus you can use it as a signal if your phone dies. I personally keep one that can also be used as a phone charger.

Be sure to keep an eye on weather forecasts for the area. There has been a lot of talk about snow, ice, and wind chill values being in the negatives.

Stay warm and stay safe.
