It’s been a few years in the making and finally 2020 paid off for something great. The 100 Club began raising funds for the Amarillo Police Department to purchase a new SWAT vehicle, and it got here just in time for Christmas.

Today you can come out and officially see the new armored vehicle at Coffee Memorial 7500 Wallace Blvd. at 5:30 PM. All visitors are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

Suzanne Talley, President of the 100 Club Said:

The 100 Club of the Texas panhandle and Amarillo Police Department teamed up a few years ago to work together to raise funds for a new and much-needed SWAT vehicle!  It has been a long time in coming but it finally arrived.  After it arrived, it took several days to get the lettering on it, the radio installed and the tags on, but it is ready to roll out and we wanted to make sure you get to see it first.”

The 100 Club was able to raise $200,000 out of the over $350,000 total price.

The previous SWAT vehicle had been in use for 15 years and during the past few years it has become unreliable.
