Today is one of my favorite days of the year. I love St. Patrick's Day. I love getting all of my friends together for a feast, and lots of beer. There's always a lot of laughter and singing.

But not this year. This year activities are being canceled, and there's that whole pandemic thing keeping my friends and I from traveling.

So here are some things we can do to celebrate at home, as best we can.

Dropkick Murphys Streaming Concert

Hell. Yes. This is probably what I will be doing. I'll pull up the Dropkick Murphys' streaming concert on YouTube, and play online with my buddies living in Oklahoma on PS4. This is how we'll get around the travel.

Turn On Some Irish Drinking Songs and Mumble Your Way Through Them

At least while I'm cooking tonight, I'll have this one on. It's one of my all time favorite albums, much to my kids' dismay.

It features the Dubliners and the Clancy Brothers. Don't judge me if you pull up next to me in the middle of September and this is what's blasting from my stereo. I love it. This collection is a good one for a drunken sing-a-long.

Try And Learn The Words To "Rattlin Bog"

After the food has been cooked tonight to the soothing sounds of the Dubliners, then the Dropkick Murphys concert, and some of my favorite beers to wash it down; I'll probably wind up in a stupor trying to mumble my way through 'Rattlin Bog.'

It happens.

Sit In A Recliner And Watch Boondock Saints

It's a classic film. Willem Dafoe is brilliant. It's set around St. Patrick's day and follows two brothers who become God's hand of justice on the evil in the world.

It's like Quentin Tarantino got together with the Catholic church and decided to make a movie.

It works...I guess.
