The news of a restaurant opening or closing in Amarillo is pretty big news. We may be losing one of our favorites. Maybe we are finally getting a much-needed place that we just can't wait for it to open. We love our news about places to eat. We just do. Amarillo, we love our food.

There are places that we try as soon as they open. We really can't wait. Then there are places that close that we know how much we are going to miss them. For the most part we are sad. Unless, I guess it's a place that we never got a chance to figure out if we even liked it.

There is a place in Amarillo that I guess is closed. Their Google Listings state that they are temporarily closed. There is also a For Lease sign in front of the location. It sure doesn't look like it's open anymore.

The restaurant in question is Blue Havana. They moved into the former Frank's Bakery location at 1923 S Western. Since it was Frank's it has been two different Cuban restaurants with different people running it. The most recent even had a name, so I was excited.

There was even a sign put up with their restaurant name, something the former Cuban place never did.

It doesn't mean that they had any better luck. I received a message from a friend letting me know she saw the For Lease sign out front. So of course I had to drive by.

Yes, the For Lease sign was there. They didn't look open. However, this was the case for another place that didn't really look open.

This has to be the shortest-lived restaurant in Amarillo. It was early March when they first took to social media about their new place. They haven't posted since. Google Maps shows them temporarily closed.

This may be the fastest grand opening and closing here in Amarillo. This will have to be something we look into.
