Bee keeping has become really popular in the last couple of years. I've seen several social media posts from celebrities about it, and it's something that has been in the news several times.

If you've always wondered what it would be like (no pun intended), or are interested in getting started as a bee keeper, this weekend there's a class you'll be interested in attending. There is a beginner's bee keeping class in Amarillo tomorrow.

The class is going to be held at Honey Bear's Honey Farm. They'll cover everything you need to know, plus you'll get to try out different varieties of honey.

There is some class work involved before you get "field training." There's also a chance you might get to see a queen.

The class is adults only, so don't get any ideas about this replacing your kid's lemonade stand for the time being. Maybe you can learn and then pass the knowledge along.

If you are interested in taking the class, there is limited room available. You can reach out to the organizer by using Facebook messenger, or by calling. You will need to have your reservation confirmed over the phone before you show up.

The number to call is 806-680-1200. The cost is $30 a ticket. You can get more info by checking out the event page here.

I've heard several people say that during the pandemic, one of the best things you can do for your mental health is pick up a new hobby. Maybe some time among the bees is just what you need.

Here are some tips for self-care during the pandemic:
