When Amarillo loses a restaurant there are usually reasons. There can be a lack of people knowing about them. It could be that the owners retire and move on. Maybe the food wasn't that good. There are reasons though.

When Frank's Bakery went out of business at the end of 2022 it was because Frank was retiring. We can understand that. What happened after that left a lot of people questioning what was going on.

A Cuban place moved in August of last year. There was never a lot of information. The Frank's Bakery sign was never taken down. There was really never a name that we saw. We never saw a menu posted on social media. There were some good reviews. Then as soon as it was open it was closed.

As I was driving by this location - 1923 S Western I noticed cars in the parking lot. Not only that but the open light was on. Wait, what is going on? Is it open again? Is it something new? There is still no sign except for the Frank's Bakery sign so I really had no idea.

Over the weekend I got my answer. I saw a post in the Amarillo Restaurant Review page letting us know that Blue Havana is open. Well, the post didn't say that. Just that they were open and posted a menu. So hey that is a start.

So I started looking into it and Blue Havana has a Facebook page. They are in that location and they are serving Cuban food but they are being run by someone new.

So finding a menu they posted is already a step in the right direction for Blue Havana.

So hopefully they will stick around a lot longer. We wish them luck.
