After Steel Panther made a joke about Vince Neil in an interview, Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx came to the defense of his singer, calling the glam metal jokesters a "wanna be band" and "backstabbers." Now, Panther drummer Stix Zadinia has fired back at Sixx with two tweets.

It started when Little Punk People asked Zadinia and singer Michael Starr who they'd like to bring back from the dead. Starr opted to name the Motley Crue singer — who is still alive — and later clarified, "I’d bring back the Vince Neil from back in the day, because that guy is dead."

This prompted Sixx's outrage, who also said "the singer in Steal [sic] Panther can go fuck himself," which was ironic given that one of Steel Panther's latest singles is titled, "All I Wanna Do Is Fuck (Myself Tonight)." Zadinia laughed it off in his first tweet, saying, "Sounds like someone needs some fucking attention."

The Panther and Crue beef dates back to 2011 when the two groups toured together alongside Def Leppard. Starr has said that Crue hated Steel Panther and that the two sides had butted heads. With this in mind, Zadinia underscored how his band may not necessarily be the "backstabbers" Sixx claims them to be. "In order to stab someone in the back, you have to have been somewhat cordial to begin with," wrote the drummer in a second tweet.
