It's been rumored for some time now, but it's now official: the great(ly troubled) Mel Gibson has joined the cast of 'The Expendables 3,' where he'll play the main bad guy. He's also being joined by Antonio Banderas, another fading star who has been rumored to join the film for quite some time.

The last we heard on 'The Expendables 3' front was that Sylvester Stallone was looking for some new blood to join the team, along with mainstays like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren. And here's an update...he still is!

Tragedy struck Thursday on the set of Sylvester Stallone’s film ‘The Expendables 2′ when one stuntman was killed and another was seriously wounded. The accident happened during a stunt involving a bomb explosion in an inflatable boat at the Ognyanovo dam, about 15 miles outside the Bulgarian capital of Sofia.
