Now that the Christmas season is just about full fledged upon us we need activities to celebrate. Boy do we have just the one for you. How about touring over 14,000 poinsettia’s here in Amarillo?

If I told you we as Amarilloan's were generous what would you think? We have seen it time and time again. It has especially been noticed during this year we call 2020. We have stepped up to help people. That is what being generous is all about.

The High Plains Food Bank has teamed up with a new app that makes donating easier and less taxing on your wallet.

Tyson Foods along with the High Plains Food Bank will be having a food box giveaway to help families and individuals struggling with food insecurity September 27

This week, Lone Star Santas will be sending their representatives to Amarillo to make a donation to High Plains Food Bank.

In just June alone, the HPFB served over 11,000 households, for the largest one-month total in the food bank’s history.

Recipients will receive a 16-pound food box that includes 4 pounds of dry goods, 6 pounds of protein and 6 pounds of produce.

They are looking for volunteers who can donate a few hours during the week.

The High Plains Food Bank is the latest local businesses to close to the public over COVID-19 concerns. However, they are continuing to alleviate hunger.

In Amarillo, Subway restaurants have teamed up with High Plains Food Bank to combat hunger in our area through the 'Feeding the Need' initiative.

I love this food and fund drive, it is so inspiring to see the community come together for a great cause.
