YouTube is an absolute treasure trove of old videos if you have a bit of patience. Today I came across a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert from '91 in Amarillo. The entire concert.

According to the video's description, the concert was in October of 1991, making it almost 30 years old. The concert was held at the Civic Center. You can check it out below.

First, I was hit with a ton of nostalgia. The thing that stuck out the most to me was the lighters that would come out during slow songs. I can't remember the last time I saw a sea of lighters instead of a sea of cellphones.

Those were the days.

After I got over the nostalgia, I decided to check out the website listed at the bottom of the video. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the site. Everything I tried came back with "website not found."

I wonder what else used to be at BetaVideoTapes.com.

It also made me think back to last year. There was a great lineup of concerts for 2020. ZZ Top, Bob Dylan, and Styx all had scheduled dates.

It was going to be a big year for concerts in Amarillo. At least, as far as I could remember from recent history. Then, the pandemic hit and everything got postponed or canceled.

I'm still holding out hope that we will get back to that level of scheduling. It felt like every other week we were announcing a new concert.

In the meantime, we always have YouTube.
