It's getting to be that time of year in Amarillo. As it starts to get warmer people are thinking about pool season. So much so that the latest city inspection reports are loaded with pool inspections around Amarillo.

A lot of the pools being inspected are the ones inside of hotels in Amarillo. Some of those haven't actually opened for the season so not much to see there. Then there was one that caught my eye.

The pool at Gold's Gym. They had an inspection recently that did not end well for them. In fact, it ended with their pool and spa being closed until further notice. They need to do some work and it looks like a lot of work.

According to their inspection report:

The pool has been closed and the permit suspended. An inspection fee has been charged. The pool may not open until the reinspection fee has been paid and the following corrections have been confirmed by an environmental health officer

So if you have been to Gold's Gym off Blackburn recently wanting to swim. Just know you can't. The pool and spa are closed. For those who like a good swim to get that heart pumping this is not a good thing at all.

It looks like some of the violations will need a licensed electrician to make sure they are up to standards.

Free chlorine in range, pH in range, electrical corrected by a licensed electrician, and drain covers replaced. 25 TAC §265.186 (a) Licensed electrician required. The electrical system of a pool or spa and structures in the pool yard or spa yard must be installed, maintained, repaired, or replaced by a licensed electrician in accordance with the Texas Electrical Safety and Licensing Act, Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 1305 and related rules. **Keep electrician receipt to show that a licensed electrician was hired for electrical repair.

That is just part of the report. You can read all of the findings HERE.  If you are one that likes Gold's Gym because of their pool you will need to find other activities to keep you in shape.

Their Google Listing may say they have a pool. Oh, and they do. It is just not usable right now. Hopefully, they get everything corrected soon.
